Whatever your style of bowling there are some key technical points you should be aiming for:
- Bowl the ball with a high arm (as close to vertical as possible) so that it is delivered from high
- Hold the ball correctly, whether for spin or pace bowling (watch the videos above to see correct technique)
- Have an economical run up which is powerful and straight towards the target but not too fast or too long
- Have a strong delivery stride and a long follow through channeling your energy towards the target

There are three main types of bowling: Pace (fast) bowling, Orthodox spin (finger spin) and Leg-spin (wrist spin).
Some star bowlers in world cricket today are Jimmy Anderson (pace), Stuart Broad (pace), Mitchell Starc (pace), Ravinder Jadeja (spin) and Yasir Shah (spin).
